Which Korean carrier should you pick? Along with Japan, Korea is one of Asia's most popular destinations, and a smooth, reliable connection makes the whole trip more enjoyable. Korea's three major carriers are SK Telecom, KT and LG. Wondering which offers the best coverage, and how to choose the right Korea data SIM? Before you head off, let's take a quick look at these three carriers.
South Korea's three major carriers

SK Telecom
Holding over 50% market share in South Korea, SK Telecom traces its roots to the Korea Mobile Telecommunications Corporation, becoming part of the SK Group in 1997 and taking on its current name. As the country's leading carrier, SK Telecom offers comprehensive coverage with a notably stable signal.

KT
KT is South Korea's second-largest carrier, founded in 1981 as Korea Telecom Corp. and renamed KT Corp. in 2002. Its services span fixed-line and wireless communications, including telephony and high-speed broadband, and it offers thorough mobile data coverage for both residents and international visitors.

LG Telecom
LG Telecom is South Korea's third-largest carrier. It arrived on the scene later than its rivals, but as a subsidiary of the LG Group it draws on the resources of its parent company, and its network infrastructure and services have steadily grown year on year.
Bands used by Korean carriers
Korea mainly uses the same 1800MHz (Band 3) as Taiwan. On the 4G LTE side, the two leading carriers differ slightly in the bands they support, as shown below:
Most 4G phones in Taiwan today support 2100MHz (Band 1) and 1800MHz (Band 3), both of which work fine in Korea — but it is still worth double-checking your device's supported bands before you leave, just for extra peace of mind.
Every Korea data SIM Daijobu offers runs on either SK Telecom or KT, so you can count on a solid connection throughout your trip.
