Okinawa's monorail is a great companion for independent travellers. If you want to get from Okinawa's airport into Naha city without renting a car or booking a private transfer, the monorail is exactly the answer! It has only 15 stops, but that is enough to reach most of Naha's attractions, and the ride from Naha Airport to Shuri Station takes under 30 minutes — genuinely convenient for independent travellers~

A lot of people land at Okinawa's airport for the first time and cannot figure out where to catch the monorail, since the signage at Naha Airport genuinely is not very intuitive haha. No worries though — let us walk you through it! After clearing international arrivals, head toward the domestic terminal, and once you get there, follow the connecting bridge outside — cross it and you will spot the monorail (Naha Airport Station)!!! Simple enough, right?
Follow along with DJB and let's walk through it together~ Go!
And if you are worried about forgetting the steps, save this article — as long as you have a Japan 5G data SIM from DJB, you can get online the moment you land and easily look up route information, so there is no risk of getting lost on your first visit to Okinawa's airport~ Extra peace of mind for anyone travelling abroad, or to Okinawa, for the first time 🥰
If you have landed on an international flight, first head toward the domestic terminal / monorail direction.
In the domestic terminal, follow the signs toward the multi-storey car park / monorail.
Exit through the domestic terminal exit.
Once you reach the connecting bridge and see the "Monorail" sign, you are nearly there!
Once you arrive at Naha Airport Station, go grab your ticket!
