the anam resort

Looking for accommodation in Nha Trang? Since Taiwan now has direct flights to Nha Trang, Vietnam, it has become a popular destination for many travellers in recent years. Nha Trang is a coastal city in south-central Vietnam, known for its clean beaches and great diving conditions. So can you stay outside the city centre for your Nha Trang trip? Absolutely!!! Today I am sharing two very different all-inclusive resorts in Nha Trang, based on my own stay at both — hopefully this helps with your own accommodation search~

The Anam Resort (five-star)

Website: https://www.theanam.com/
Room rate: NT$5,500–8,000
10km from Cam Ranh Airport (about a 15-minute drive)

I genuinely recommend this one — great for families, couples, or a group of friends looking to unwind for a few days and take some stunning photos. It also offers wedding venue rental; there was no wedding happening during my stay, but just imagining one there was breathtaking!!! The Southeast Asian-style villas open directly onto the beach, no shuttle needed, and the resort's facilities are genuinely comprehensive — a gym, yoga studio, kids' playroom, sports court, pool, cinema, and spa. After sunset, you can also unwind at the bar. Although it sits a bit out of the way, the resort provides pretty much everything you need, and if you fancy exploring downtown Nha Trang, The Anam also offers a shuttle service — so thoughtful!!

Beyond the stunning views, I think the room layout at The Anam is genuinely comfortable — with the villa format giving plenty of space, there is never any sense of crowding. The bathroom design also shows real attention to detail: dark stone tiles create a calm, soothing feel, and the shower and toilet sit on opposite sides, with two basins so guests can use them at the same time. There is even a coconut-grove-style feature beside the bathtub, adding both privacy and visual appeal. The shampoo and body wash come in a relaxing, sleep-inducing scent too. Overall, The Anam's facilities and staff service are genuinely impressive, with clear Chinese-language instructions for some amenities — a great fit for family trips or company retreats.

As for the restaurants, we only ate there at breakfast, and the spread was genuinely varied — beyond local Vietnamese dishes, there was Japanese and Western food too. You can also order a freshly made latte with latte art at the restaurant, not machine-poured — a nice touch compared to other hotels! If you are still hungry, the hotel also offers 24-hour room service with a range of set meals, afternoon tea, and drinks, all bookable via the in-room phone line — just note that room service is charged separately!

If your stay at The Anam runs long enough, it is well worth exploring the different sections of the resort — there is a big lawn and a lovely beach, or you could try an early-morning yoga class, both great options. On a sunny day, it is also a great spot for photos everywhere you turn — and that is when a good connection really matters~ Let DJB's no-throttle Vietnam data SIM keep you connected all day, wherever you go, whatever you browse, whatever you shoot — just as easy as being online back home in Taiwan, and easy to share the joy of your trip with friends! 🥰

Vinpearl Discovery 1 (five-star)

Website: https://www.vinpearl.com/resort-nha-trang/en/trang-chu/
Room rate: NT$4,000–6,000
About 40km from the airport (requires a boat or cable car to Hon Tre Island)

A trip to Nha Trang always includes a visit to the theme park on Hon Tre Island, and if you want to save on travel time, you can stay right on the island at a hotel or resort under the Vinpearl group. This time we stayed at "Vinpearl Discovery 1", mainly featuring two-storey villa rooms in a European-luxury style, with an oversized living room, dining area, and private pool for guests. Some villas even connect to their neighbours' small gardens, making it super easy to pop over and visit!!! Most villas have 2 bedrooms downstairs, each with its own bathroom, while upstairs is one massive room — a friend joked it was as spacious as her postpartum recovery room. Personally I found it a touch too spread out, with some amenities and items a little far apart, but anyone who loves a big open space should be more than happy.

What makes Hon Tre Island unique is that identity verification is required before entering the accommodation zone — your face is recorded at the pier before you even board the boat. Since the resort is split across many zones, guests staying further from the reception lobby need to call for a golf cart to pick them up. The restaurant sits right above the reception lobby, and entering it also requires facial recognition. Being a European-style resort, there is a fair amount of Western food to choose from, but the Vietnamese classics — pho and condensed milk coffee — are still on the menu, so you will not miss out!

Overall, a whole villa suits group travel really well — plenty of room to hang out together at night, plus your own private garden and pool to relax in. But if villa-style stays are not your thing, do not worry!! Hon Tre Island also has standard apartment-style hotel towers, easy to find on any major booking site!
